The Spyderco Byrd Cara Cara 2 PlainEdge Folding Knife in Black, a compact and lightweight folding knife with full-flat grind from innovative cutlery company Spyderco, has been reengineered to include a full flat-ground blade for enhanced edge geometry and cutting precision. Other updates and improvements include a proprietary Bi-Directional-Textured fiberglass-reinforced-nylon handle, for improved grip and control, and phosphor bronze pivot washers for smooth blade operation. Byrd knives offer the same functionality and versatility as other Spyderco knives, but at incredibly affordable prices.
Like the prior model, the Cara Cara 2 retains spine and choil jimping and a four-position clip for a variety of carrying configurations. Skeletonized nested handle liners add strength while keeping weight to a minimum, and the screw-together construction is both sturdy and easy to clean and maintain. The 3.75-inch 8Cr13MoV stainless-steel blade has a comet-shaped hole, and the jimped crosshatching alone the spine helps the thumb's grip on the top of the blade for precise, comfortable, nonslip use. A finger choil enhances the ergonomic stainless-steel handle, and the mid-positioned back lock has a David Boye cut-away dent, a safety feature allowing tight gripping without accidentally releasing the lock. This Cara Cara 2 was designed with a black G-10 handle that is hyper-resistant to warping and fading, while also provided a non-slip grip.
