The Spyderco Dog Tag Non-Locking Folding Knife with 1.23-Inch CPM S30V Steel Blade in Black is a unique departure from Spyderco’s typical folding knife construction method. It is based on Serge Panchenko’s most popular custom designs. This knife is safe, compact, and easy to carry.
Its handle is made from carbon fiber. Graphic fibers (the size of a human hair) are woven together and then fused with epoxy resin. Lightweight with a high level of tensile strength it is three dimensional in appearance. Its single-sided handle accurately replicates the size and shape of a military dog tag. The center of the handle scale is machined to create an integral bar that houses a steel ball bearing for the blade’s detent mechanism. At the top of the handle is an aluminum back strap that defines the blade’s limits of travel in both the open and closed positions and provides protection from the edge when the knife is closed.
This knife has a sharpened blade with no serrations or teeth sometimes referred to as a smooth blade. This sheepfoot-style blade measuring 1.23-inch is made from premium CPM S30V particle metallurgy stainless steel with a stonewashed finish.
A non-locking mechanism in which the blade is held open by spring pressure on a flat section on the back of the blade's tang.
The Round Hole in the blade allows easy opening, and a subtle swedge (unsharpened bevel) and a decorative fuller (groove) near the spine add a touch of style. The blade’s pivot is also accentuated by a round aluminum disk that provides stability and structural strength as well as an aesthetic touch.
